A group of my friends and I were talking and one of them is a court reporter. We asked her what does a court reporter do? She told us that court reporters are the people you see using a data transcribing machine. They have to do a written verbatim account of anything that was said in court, whether it was said by the individuals in person or on a voice recorded box. She said the verbatim account would later be used as an official account of the entire conversations given in the court room. We had no idea that her job was as important as it is.
