Last night I had my first experience with a real theatre production. I was absolutely mesmerized from the moment I walked into the theatre and felt the heavy weight of seriousness about the performing arts. I had the distinct impression that I, the spectator, also had a particular role to play in the course of the evening. My part was easy, though. I simply fell in love with the story and the performers. The renaissance costume gowns were breath-taking, especially as they swirled and twirled in the dances. The actors were unashamedly handsome, and carried me willingly off into a beautiful romantic fantasy world of another time. It truly was a magical night.
